Percy Henry Stowage serves with the 22nd Brigade Royal Fusiliers as a privare from the 16th November 1915 to the 29th January 1918 ;
and the 23nd Brigade Royal Fusiliers as a Sergeant from the 30th January 1918 to 18th August 1918.
He is listed as a member of Technical Institute and Schools of Art for the London County Council prior to the war.

In the World War he earns a 1915 Star and War medal and Victory, and he is also awarded a Military Medal for gallantry whilst a Sergeant of the Sportsmans brigade :

Sergeant P. H. Spowage (R. Fusiliers, Educ.) on 23rd March, for the successful manner in which he assumed command at Eaucourt I'Abbaye after all his officers had become casualties.
