MADDEN, 2/Lieutenant Clarence Rowland ... ... ... ... ... 4/Lincoln

S.W. of LENS, 19th June, 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He also showed great initiative in personally attending to all the details in connection with blocking, bombing and mopping-up parties, setting a fine example to his men of courage and self-possession under fire.
