MILITARY CROSS :
BATHO, Lt. Edgar Richard, R.A.M.C. (S.R.), attached. 16th Bn., Lanc Fus. ? As
Medical Officer to the battalion during the attack on the Oise-Sambre Canal, on
4th November 1918, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in
dressing wounded under heavy shell fire. To enable the rapid evacuation of
wounded he had established his aid post in close proximity to the line, and in
this exposed position he dealt with a great number of cases, working for many
hours under very great pressure. — Gazettes, 2 April and 10 December 1919.
