BROWN, Rev. Wilfrid Roland Alexis, Temp. Chap, to the Forces, 4th Class, R.A.
Chap. D., attached 6th Bn., York. R. ? During the operations on 3rd March 1919,
near Bolshe-Ozerki, he went forward with a company under heavy machine gun fire,
reorganised the stretcher bearers, and attended to the wounded by pulling them
out of the snow and dressing their wounds. It was chiefly owing to his energy
and fine disregard for personal danger that all the wounded of this company were
evacuated. — Gazette, 3 October 1919.
